Define fit? Wanna do a sub 3? Hell no. Sub 4 in 47 days? Better get training and I hope you are already fit. Finish the race? Sure, more than enough time.

I'm doing it!!! :D

The 99er isn't going over Malanshoogte per their race route online - Malans has the gravel section.

Well that could have saved us 30 minutes of talking, we could have focused on chasing the herbalife guy..

So bordom overtook me and had a look at the current seeding index for CTCT.  They say 99er 2015 is a official seeding race for 2016, but why does it carry a 5 points penalty, where unofficial races carry same penalty of 5?  only non penalised is 1 tonner and STCT (not that it matters, did better in others),.

Because the whole "official seeding race" thing is just a marketing gimmick carried over from a previous era.

It makes sense that they give a penalty to a race that happened more than a year ago and not to ones that happened 3 months ago.

Do the 2016 99er if you don't want a penalty for the 2016 Argus.

Like Skubarra says races older than 3 months start to carry penalty points, regardless of the race. So basically you must race race race. It prevents guys that had a good season 3 years ago and then basically stopped and come straight back into the front groups.

Thats the funny part, Scenic south,  Durby dash and West coast express all have penalty of 5 , only the 1 tonner 2015 and SBCT2015 don't have any penalties.  So it seems like the will use those races for seeding if did not do official races, or you did not do so well in official races

In my mind the best local race for a good seeding is the One Tonner (provided you are fit enough to do 160km without hurting yourself).

A big fat Beta, nice bunches to sit, the pace not to hectic - you can get a good index even from the lower bunches.

Unless you get a flat 15km in and loose your bunch . . . . . . . . . :)

I still think they should use the DC, but apparently it's not fair as its a team event.

My 5:35 counts for nada, agh, and sick in all seeding events last year. Finished with bunch yesterday though :D
