Frosty Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Louis in only 2' 16" down on Yates. I say only, as he pulled back 33" today. It's not impossible, but funnier things have happened.

Mntboy Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 News in Dumoulin has a small wrist fracture [emoji22]Actually that's relatively good news. A fracture heals quicker and generally doesn't need a cast. He could still race in Rio. The medical team and him would need to come up with a solution that allows his wrist to be braced but in such a way that he still has mobility and can make an open fist without it sending him into seven dozen sorts of pain. So his participation is a maybe and not quite a no go as yet.
Mntboy Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 I didn't see what happened with Mollema(where he went down etc), but could Cancellara have helped him back into the group or not really?Afaik Spartacus has dropped out of the TdF to focus on the Olympics.
Mntboy Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Main cheese 8th overallI will be a bit boastful in saying that I predicted that he could make it up too eight, but that was in a whatsapp to my mom, so I wouldn't be too offended if you don't believe me. Only 42" behind Valverde so could snag seventh overall, although I am hoping for the white jersey too!
Pure Savage Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 News in Dumoulin has a small wrist fracture [emoji22] Lucky he is doing TT and not Mtb... Probably be better as wont do road race.
dev null Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Must be fun having GT on the team. It must be difficult to figure out when he is being serious.
Thor Buttox Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Dstv is now officially giving me the Royal sh*ts. No replay of today on now so I had to come to the Hub to get the play by play. Somehow, it's not the same as watching. Sounds like it was one of the days to watch!

'Dale Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 "I slid out and was on the ground. I was fast to bet back on the bike but there were tricky parts with a lot of corners, crashes in front of me. At the bottom there were little groups. I started the climb with a gap, 20 seconds back and I couldn't close it. At the bottom, I tried to come back, I had to try and close it there as fast as I could, otherwise it would have been difficult. Pete Stetina pulled on the flat part, but when you start 20 seconds down, I couldn't close it and I just exploded....I'm not too badly injured, just a hip and elbow. The classification is gone. I'm tenth now, but that was not the goal." Mollema

Long Wheel Base Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 So if Astana can build a team around a young guy and have a previous tour winner as one of his workers then why can't SKY?I reckon they should sign Louis and get froome and co to pace him around France. If that guy had a decent team he could win the TDF. Instead he has 8 individuals in pink and purple having a 3 week jol on their bikes. Sent from my LG-H735 using Tapatalk

It would be in keeping with their jingoistic nature to keep hiring Johnny Foreigner to work hard Yates who is English. DDD clearly had a strategy to get wins out of Cavendish and it has worked extremely well; I suspect better than even hoped for. As Cav won't be around for ever, it would be great if they build their next team around Louis as GC contender. I'm sure that for Cav's salary they could employ a few good strong climbers and get guys like EBH to shepherd him. And even better if he is joined by Darryl Impey.
