Wonder if the guys will head over to Belgium and do some crit racing his week.. with Rio around the corner I am not sure if they will.

Was good fun watching Froome and Sagan "race" each other last year the week after the tour.

[emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23] wrong Martin

Q: What do you call an Irishman and a German with an English name?

A: Martin

Even more confusing is that they ride for the same team!

Phew!

What a sensational TdF.

Best moment????

Sagan and Froome Dawg attacking the peloton in the crosswinds

Funniest moment????

Froome Dawg running up Mont Ventoux

Toughest moment????

High-speed crash in final 150 m of Stage 1

Most dramatic moment????

Stuyven caught in the final 500 metres in week 1

Alaphillippe flung into rock face with his TT bike by gust of wind

Fail of the Tour????

Phil the commentator

Saddest moment ????

Silence on the podium after Nice incident

Most inspiring moment????

Pantano's coming-from-behind stage victory for the folding IAM cycling

Luigi Meintjies's ending in the top 10 - a first for Africa and South Africa ????????

I have to agree on all of this.

I will also just add another great moment is Sagan working his butt off yesterday to help Roman get a top 10 in GC.. if you consider that he could've had an easier day with Champs-Elysées in mind.. so selfless.

So there you have it. Another year another Tour.

Next year I will be better prepared to watch a stage or two live (ie I will make sure I'm in the correct country!)

Peter’s strong ride crowned a great edition of the Tour for the UCI World Champion. “The Tour de France has always been good for me - the last two years I didn't win but this year I won three stages and I'm happy for that. I always try to give my best and nearly got a fourth today. I started my sprint a little late today, but Andre did a good sprint and I'm happy for him to have won a stage too. Everybody's happy. Now after the Tour de France I can go and relax a little bit, and I will then go for the mountain bike at the Olympics. It would be something special for me as I started in mountain bikes. That would be nice.”

On a side note

The harder they make it for him the more points he scores[emoji6]

As Gen and I have said the two of them can easily be confused for the other especially being on the same team. Easy mistake to make.

Nice win for TdF King Throome!

My Opinion:

At the start of the race, I thought that this going to be epic.

The loss of Contador was a big let down.

Porte's puncture that effectively put him out of running ftw.

So I waited for Quintana to launch the attacks that he had been talking about forever.

Im still waiting.

As Chris Froome showed us, to win the TDF you have to take some risks.

The seemed to be an inability or unwillingness by some teams to do this.

I was longing for a race like a few years ago when teams took turns to attack Jan Ulrich and his team over and over again until he eventually cracked.

It just seamed to me that other teams were in such awe of the mighty team Sky that they were reluctant to dare to try their luck. There were a few minor attempts but no structured hit them over and over again until the pressure gets to them.

But anyway, well done to Froome and team Sky. A fine effort, calculated risks taken. Deserved winners.

Sagan on a MTB. Top 5? If Karma smile on him it is possible.

Lol.. I think a top 10 would be a great result.. one thing is for sure he will bring in the crowds and he will give it his best effort.
