A bit of everything.......you will enjoy it.

Mostly single track, first section nice for warm-up and some tight switchbacks, second section a bit more rocky and slight climbing,.......then some technical stuff near the river, followed by a steep rocky climb.......recovery time after that.......followed again by a longer climb, but not as steep to the top of the ridge.......coming down is a jol of note.

Have a look here for one of the routes and profile:

I've ridden there a few times. The trail is a figure 8 loop. In the first loop there's a short steep climb and a longer climb with some cool switchbacks. Also a bit of a rocky descent after that but its good fun. Second loop has a longer climb with another cool descent with a few berms and rock drops (also chicken runs).

I would say its the best place to spend 30 bucks in Pretoria.

Do a slow first round .Will take an hour if you are fit and can ride technical terrain .Ride there often and well worth the visit .If you are a novice stick to the flatter section and don,t cross over the spruit

The climbs ,rocky descent and berm descent might just end up in a hike for a real novice .Was there 2weeks ago and met a couple that found the flat section difficult .Also had to " rebuild" their bikes for them

Hi

Well worth the R30. 13.5km of mostly single track, with 290m of climbing and will take most about 60min to complete. Like mentioned in some of the above posts, the first have is flattish with nice flowy ST through the forest and the second half has 2 nice climbs. The climbs are not the long though.

Good fun if you push hard:)

What's the safety like here? Safe enough to ride alone?

Yes. I would say it's one of the safest bike parks in Pretoria.

The park is fully fenced and they have a security patrol as well. Apparently they patrol the fence 3 times a day.

Very safe indeed. Haven't heard of a single incident there in the close to 2 years that they have been open. Have ridden there alone plenty of times, I live about 600m from the park so it is easy to pop in for a quick loop.

The perimeter of the park has a proper fence around it which is patrolled regularly as far as I understand.

Everyone in GP should go there at least once in my opinion. They also have trail-running loops for those interested.

I haven't been there in a while, but on FB I see that they are doing some good work there. Looks like they have a very good looking building going up there with a bike shop (and I think a spot to chow, but not sure).
