This is going to be easy, 4 days in and almost halfway to the required total

They have.

Max fitness points is now 30,000 (from 15,000) and the assessments no longer make up part of the limit.

Is the cap per person or for the entire portfolio (we are 2 on vitality) ?

It's 30,000 per person...

Points changes for 2016

In 2016, we are aligning fitness points-earning more closely with the duration and intensity of the activity. You can earn up to 300 fitness points by measuring your daily steps using a wearable device or smartphone app, or by exercising at a Vitality fitness partner. In 2016, fitness points can be earned as follows:

post-1372-0-88254000-1451925013_thumb.png

  • The total annual fitness points limit has been changed to 30 000 points per adult per year (20 000 points for kids) – previous base and bonus points have been combined.
  • Kids will earn the same number of points for physical activity as adults from age six onwards (age 12 for gym).
  • A separate assessment points category has been created, which includes the Vitality Fitness Assessment and Vitality Exercise Consultations. This means that points earned for those assessments will no longer count towards the fitness points category, giving you the opportunity to earn more points for physical activity.

New points-earning activities:

  • Colonoscopy: 2 500 Vitality points
  • Family history tool Set up: 2 500 Vitality points once-off, update: 500 Vitality points once a year
  • Kids Vitality Health Check: 2 500 Vitality points
  • Optometrist visit: 2 000 Vitality points

Points-earning activities removed:

Points for Prostate Screening Assessment (PSA) have been removed, due to its insignificant impact on prostate cancer mortality.

Certain fitness points with no clinical link to physical activity have been removed. These include logging a manual workout, completing an online challenge and motivating someone to accept and complete a challenge.

To anybody chasing points: Keep the colonoscopy as your very last resort. The optometrist visit is a much better option!

Any news on when the 2016 racing calendar will be updated? See it is still blank and want to see if it is going to be worth joining the cycle club.

Don't hold your breath.

Just my personal feeling. Unfortunately I think it's a case of both sides not wanting to consider a meeting in the middle (sorry, word has escaped me - I'm high on meds)

Compromise - place where everybody is equally unhappy?

That is not correct as often do spins on the wattbike at the gym as well as long runs on the treadmill. None of those have gps and the workouts are loaded to garmin and strava and I get all the points allocated accordingly

I did some more digging again - found this comment by a strava developer/person

"The Strava App for iPhone/Android does not currently have many features in place for stationary trainer or indoor recording. The App requires a valid GPS signal to record data, and will not be able to record good data when indoors with a weak GPS signal. For now, you can always enter your stationary/indoor metrics in a Manual Activity entry within the App or on the Strava website."

So I am still having trouble with Strava logging my indoor workouts - it seems like whenever the GPS signal is week - my workout time gets cut out... my workouts always end up losing about 30-90% in the "duration" of the workout...

and I am losing disco points because of this

What apps are others using to track indoor workouts?
