I just got a quote for an overseas trip to Houston - Normal price(economy) = R12500 booked through Kulula/Vitality R8540, with all their crap - still stays worth it.

Thats basically just air port taxes.

Note to team vitality members...

I dint received a few of my races cash back... upon querying got this.

"We do apologise for the inconvenience.

There are two events out of the ones you have sent that qualify for cash back:

Telkom 947 Cycle Challenge (95km) and the Telkom 947 Mountain Bike Challenge (55km).

We are experiencing a technical error with receiving the information from the partner, we are working on having this resolved.

Once the issue has been resolved you will receive the cash back.

"

So ... they dont even communicate that people are not getting the cash back.

Reading through your post again, their reply states:

Q1: did you do the Carnival City Macsteel National Classic on 5/6 November?

Q2: When did you submit the list of events to them that they refer to? In 2016 or 2017?

Q3: when is your billing cycle? When do refunds normally appear in your bank account?

My billing cycle ends on the 19th of each month, so my refund is only due next week.

Anyone else with the iOS app showing the 2016 points only in the Vitality Points Monitor?

On Android it shows all 2017 data.

Before I contact them, I wanted to check it it's only me (and wife) or anyone else.

Edit: and my Mom's online points monitor doesn't show anything.

Points for both wife and myself showing correctly on IOS app

Same here. I have to go into the Activity section of rewards to see how points were allocated.

Latest iOS update is available in the App Store. The bug has been fixed.

For No. 2:

The event took place in the second half of November, so it could mean they only finalised it in December, so payment in January.

The payment is limited to a max per quarter.

edit: corrected the end of quarter and then paid.

So I have finally moved to Discovery (the company finally gave us a choice).

I've got Vitality, and am trying to link Strava to it. Now the only way I could see is to allow it access through the Apple Health app.

Stava is syncing fine to Apple Health, and I have allowed the Discovery application to read all the options yet it does not sync. I hit the Sync data option, which changes to Syncing, but then after about 2 seconds it just goes back to Sync Data and shows the Last Updated as None.

Anybody got any idea what I am doing wrong? This surely can't be rocket surgery... ;)

I did not know that discovery accepted data from Strava again?

Posted (edited)

Strava is not recognized as an approved source for "verified" data.

Have you got a Garmin, Polar or other device listed on their Devices page?

In the App, click on Devices and Apps

Then click on Link a device or app

Then it will show a list of compatible devices. Garmin doesn't show on mine as it's already in use. Likewise with the Apple Watch.

Well that explains it then.

Guess I will have to get a new device.

Or an HR monitor that can link to the iHealth app to record an activity. (I'm not speaking from experience, but on paper this should work) Edited by Christofison

Mine was 6.2   :( and I train 7 days a week (sometimes twice a day) and eat healthily with almost no alcohol. Been to the doc to get blood tests done to see how much of that is the good cholesterol and whether need any medication... waiting for the results sometime this week.

So also missed out on the full quota of points as everything else is better than normal!!

So got the results of my blood test back and cholesterol was 5.2!! Pharmacy equipment well out of calibration... thankfully nothing to worry there!!

Kicker though, that having the blood test done has shown that am becoming diabetic and have to change my diet to no carbs, no starch and no sugar and change to a low carb high protein diet

Doc was a bit concerned with the numbers so ended up having an ECG done... at least the ticker is healthy and strong.

Checkup in 6 months to see how revised diet is going with sugar levels etc.

At least the vitality health check highlighted something, even if not the right thing at the time.

On the plus side, i know now exactly what my protein intake needs to be at what ratio of protein to carb will need when racing.  Hopefully will improve nutrition and maybe performance :)

I still need to go for my 2nd check up with the doctor. Went for the first one at 30 years of age. He told me to come back at 35, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50 and every year thereafter. My next birthday (44) I get to see how my self-diagnosis has been.

I have been using a Wahoo HR belt with the Polar app. Works perfectly. It's a mission if you need to start and stop by getting to your phone. I just bought a bike GPS so won't be doing that anymore.

Just had my checkup done as well. All values good except the gut size, time to hit the trails and carrot sticks

Just wondering if anyone is using a H7 Polar belt monitor linked to Polar Beat and using that for Vitality points?

Strava is no longer a valid link, needs to be directly with Garmin or one of the approved devices.
