It just makes it harder to breath in and out - does not change the relative oxygen concentration at all - so not really altitude training.....

Put on your flame suit.

havent tried one, just like I havent tried the ab machine that electrocutes my abs and gives me a six pack while I sit on the couch eating niknaks.

I can't see how holding your breath during exercise of a couple hours is the same as spending weeks at altitude.

the resistance valve is especially effecive...

Its actually their patented fastening system that sets this product apart. Not all equivalent products hold firmly in place.

OP: General opinion is that it's not a wise use of your cash. End of the year = sarcastic comments

We had these at soccer training for a week and tested them by running and doing different high intensity drills with them on...

We may aswell have stuck a 2l coke bottle in out mouths, taped in on and just cut 1 or 2 small holes in it for breathing purposes..

Waste of money in my opinion...

if you sit at Bootlgegger in main road Kenilworth having your coffee and looking up at the mountain, at about 11am daily this fellow runs along main road with one of these devices on his face, he doesn't wear a shirt, all buff that he is - its all quite humorous actually, maybe in 10 years time he wont look like an idiot, but for now he continues to do so.

By all means in a lab or on your IDT.

Not being sarcastic...the resistance valve clearly works.. as I have resited buying one of these masks.

now, if I can only find a way of installing a resistance valve on my bank account....

It doesn't improve oxygen levels, it does however make it harder for you to breathe, which in turn makes your lungs work harder making them stronger(which could help when not using the mask).
