if you sit at Bootlgegger in main road Kenilworth having your coffee and looking up at the mountain, at about 11am daily this fellow runs along main road with one of these devices on his face, he doesn't wear a shirt, all buff that he is - its all quite humorous actually, maybe in 10 years time he wont look like an idiot, but for now he continues to do so.

By all means in a lab or on your IDT.

I thought Batman killed Bane? From what you are saying it sounds like he is simply in hiding, training for the next movie?

It doesn't improve oxygen levels, it does however make it harder for you to breathe, which in turn makes your lungs work harder making them stronger(which could help when not using the mask).

Scientific study proving this? Seriously....if you can cite a meaningful medical study that proves this I'll reconsider my opinion.

Maybe he thinks it looks cool and important....

Hubby says he is getting me one for xmas for our rides. Something about improving the quality of his ride and being able to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature.

He can also invest in earphones and a comprehensive playlist. With just the right kind of music his head bobbing may look like he is listening and agreeing, been working for me...

These people are going to get sued so bad for false advertising. I have warned them on several occasions to change the name. Its a load of rubbish. Go out and train and restrict your breathing, and see how you fair with performance. Training at 100% is very important. Thats why athletes live high and train low in a perfect scenario. Because the adaptation to altitude happens in your body when you LIVE at altitude. But you want to always train at 100%, ie, low altitude. This altitude. Ask has nothing to do with that. The name is misleading. Yes i know they claim it strengthens your respiratory muscles but then they have to change the name.

It isn't more difficult to breath at highter altitude  - it's harder to absorb oxygen - the only thing that helps to absorb more oxygen is more haemoglobin/l blood - the only way to to increase hb/l is via EPO or living at decreased partial pressures of oxygen - and the mask does not emulate high altitude - it emulates increased resistance to airflow (and that is not an issue at altitude unless you are suffering from altitude sickness

So in this case - "could help" definately does not equal "altitude training"

You are all being too vague and well mannered in true Hub fashion.

This is CRAP!

Admin have my permission to give out my personal details if they want to sue me.

Ok I must admit, I use a mask but not for training.

The only thing this mask will be good for..... is to stop all those damn goggas and miggies going in your mouth and nose at night. Got myself a pollution mask for my late afternoon rides, it has a dust filter in that does the same job if you want it too. Ripped mine out.
