DJR Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Checked out Hoogekraal yesterday afternoon. Glad to report that the fire is completely out and seems to have only burnt a relatively small part. Appears to have started from the Vissershok road, most likely by someone tossing a cigarette but t.

I have seen this happen on numerous occasions over December holidays and it just peeve's me off that people can be so irresponsible, knowing the possible outcomes of their actions.

DJR Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Any new new majic/bloemendal this morning?From the top of Contermanskloof we could not see any fires burning this morning. Both the two Table Mountain fires above De Waal Drive as well as the Signal Hill one, were put out completely. I live near the Fire Chopper base and I have not heard them fly at all this morning, so I assume (literally) that all is quiet. Yesterday they were overhead to re-fuel all day long! And that in a Southeaster strong enough to prevent ships from entering the harbour! Those guys deserve a medal and a cold one!
