Pure Savage Posted February 2, 2016 Share The Friday? So after the race to the top of the Paarl Monument Hill? I was planning on getting very drunk after the finish, but a babalas race around Chappies on Saturday, "first one to puke wins" sounds like a hoot! If so, I'll make sure I stick to Pink Lips, it comes up easier than normal tequila. See, this kind of in depth training and forethought is why you chinas from up North one step ahead, boet. Rouxenator Posted February 2, 2016 Share I don't mind teams, but making it open to solo riders would get more entries. I for one would love to take part. Abercrombie, Smurfy, Oufy MTB (Roadie) and 1 other

If you look at the DC which had 220 teams and about 70 on the waiting list, its safe to say they do not need to worry about selling out entries. The team rides are a lekker viab. More than enough of those! These team rides make for some serious fun training in the lead up to the event and on the day itself! DJR Posted February 2, 2016 Share The country can definitely do with another team event like the DC, even if they have to do it in the Free State! Or Gauteng! If the upcountry guys don't jump at it in their hordes, then the PPA can bring it down to the Cape, we'll know what to do with it!. Rouxenator Posted February 3, 2016 Share LOL, if cycling was meant to be a team sport then bikes would look like this. http://www.geocities.ws/rcgilmore3/lovebike.jpg Or for those that see themselves as "racers" http://www.esportbike.com/gallery/data/500/Capture5.JPG Edited February 3, 2016 by Rouxenator

They certainly must have the wrong idea about cycling in a team then! Fortunately there are enough of us amateur bike riders who would like to experience the same type of team dynamics in an event, that the PPA is trying to cater for our needs too! fanievb Posted February 3, 2016 Share Some good news for roadies. PPA will bring a Double Century event to the Eastern Free State. Date to be confirmed, will be early May or late April 2016. Get your teams ready. eastern free state = clarens/bethlehem and surrounds (the only non-flat areas of the Vrystaat) Edited February 3, 2016 by fanievb Ghost Rider X and HdB

Rouxenator Posted February 4, 2016 Share https://www.strava.com/routes/4070010 Just gonna leave that there...Nicely done sir! Considering the weather yesterday that is impressive. Just add 20km, 1000m climbing and minus 3 hours ride time and you have a TransKaroo
