Yea, i ride there alot, there are always stray dogs about...suppose its the nature of the beast(the trails cover alot of farmland). Those baster hunting dogs are not pets...don't think your cute spaniel doing a begging trick. They are more jackal imo.

Skiet hulle.

Have also seen some out and about when we do 'outrides' on the weekend, biggest problem with them is that they are so damn unpredictable!

Hard lesson to learn as a youngster. Harder lessons have been learnt by other youngsters. In the end the matter was handled, good or bad and no one was hurt.

Except the dog, but because its not human no one gives a  s h i t e

That's nonsense.

Even if it was a human, I wouldn't give a damn.

I just said in a PM, that if there was a human that was a threat to my family, I would even do the same. Hate me, I don't care.

Does anyone know what breed the dog was, I'm sure it's a mixed breedx10,,,but are we talking a fox terrier or a Rottweiler or lassy or cujo

more like africanus cross XYZ dips....they are hunting dogs of the locals there.

People are sensitive to this as they see a pet, not a vicious unpredictable animal.

VG did right thing by protecting it's customers, pity the kid saw it, but that's life.

I hope it was that bastard dog that pissed on my wheels some time back. Id rather have the rabid dogs shot than risk them biting any of the patrons, kids or even a rider in the bush...

With all this *** thats going down, I just beg one thing from VG.

Keep the beers cold for when I finish my rides there!

I grew up on farms, unfortunately it is the way of life.

I would think that farm workers were keeping an eye out for the dogs to come back and alerted the owner to them.  It's very possible that the owner was already walking out with the gun and then came across the dogs in relative proximity to the people/guests.

If these dogs were attacking small farm animals, do you think they would be able to differentiate between a goat and a 4 year old child?  Both approximately the same size?

Imagine if we get the same outrage from all the bedwetters every time a farmer is murdered. Yes the kids saw it but is the outrage really necessary?

I wonder what everyone would have said if the dogs had bitten one of the said children....maybe not the most ideal way...but rather that then another incident, that could have been much worse...
