Good point, however bear in mind there are trails in Stellenbosch that are specifically marked as "No trail running" "No horse riding" and "No hiking". So if you want trails that are just for mountain bikers there are plenty. No need to resort to the kind of tactics they did here.

And non of those trails are as great as Jonkers. Maybe if you actually went for a ride there you could see for yourself. Rouxenator is a Stellenbosch local of many years and has many years of mtb riding, but has never ridden Jonkers!

Maybe he feels that his Hardtail is inadequate for the trails of Jonkershoek........[emoji185]

Excuse my ignorance but where are these no trail running trails - serious question?

Avoid Jonkershoek ? That place is too good, not much that could stop me from riding there.

Not a very wise comment from Rouxenator. Jonkers calls to me I just cant stay away for long. When I get anywhere near that place without my mtb, or when I dont ride there for 2 weeks, a sadness fills my heart.

I guess the saying "you don't know what you are missing" goes both ways. People that ride Jonkershoek says that about those who do not, and those who have discovered life beyond it says that about those still riding there.

I think you'll find that most of the okes commenting here have ridden all the trails out your way and are therefore qualified to comment as to what is the best. There seems to be consensus that Jonkers wins first prize.

Also, in all the times I've ridden Jonkers, I've never come accross a trail runner or horse rider on the mtb single tracks. But then maybe you ride mostly jeep track, so there you will find them...

Don't worry, that right there is why I don't want to go to Posers hoek

It's important in life to stand up for what you truly believe in. You go Roux. Edgelord to the grave.
