Chris_ Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 Anyone racing Durban ultra on Sunday? It was this race a year ago which was the last time I swam or cycled, (sadly) its a great event, I love it.
Roguemeister Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 I'll be there, but I'm just tackling the sprintI did the sprint last year and I think I was more buggered after that then after any 70.3 I've done [emoji1787] red line from start line to finish is not fun! amr63 1

shaper Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 With lock down about to happen and not knowing how to keep your training going whilst house bound. I have put together a FREE 6 week plan. Plan is available on the Traininpeaks platform here https://www.trainingpeaks.com/training-plans/other/fitness/tp-219414/covid-19-home-isolation Equipment you will need SWIM - a training resistance band/chord for the dryland swimming workouts (Watch the Youtube link located in the workout descriptions). BIKE - A smart trainer for the cycling workouts RUN - a treadmill, or run in your yard/garden or complex. If not possible look at alternatives such as skipping, stairs running or the HIIT Challenges located at the start of the plan. Group workout cycling sessions for the Tuesday and Thursday will be looked at to keep us motivated using the RTG Cycling software (www.rtgcycling.com) which is free to use whilst the COVID-19 Pandemic is ongoing. Like our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/pinnaclemultisports) and look out for event posts and updates. gurns, Vetplant, Markellis and 1 other 4

ScottCM Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 Seen as they are in the media business, I'm hoping that will mean they will broadcast more races?

Tidy business
shaper Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 5 years ago Wanda paid 650 million and sold now for 730 mllion. Tidy businessI read it was 650 million + debt which all told was around 900 million in total. Not long ago they were trying to sell for over a billion.... so think they took a hit on the sale IceCreamMan 1

shaper Posted March 26, 2020 Posted March 26, 2020 How much did PTO try buy it for last year? That's the price Wanda put on it to PTO as over a billion, PTO wrote a public letter saying they were optimistic https://triathlonmagazine.ca/feature/did-the-pto-just-threaten-ironman/
ScottCM Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 Beat PTO can't be happy about the sale now. Think if they were given the same price tag they would have jumped at it
shaper Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 Beat PTO can't be happy about the sale now. Think if they were given the same price tag they would have jumped at itThink PTO shot themselves in the foot when trying to negotiate and play hardball with Wanda Sports. Advance probably licking their lips that they got it. Perhaps they will keep it and develop Ironman, maybe they will discuss with PTO and have a quick turnaround sale..
ScottCM Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 If Football has taught us anything, it is that with media coverage come revenue that will be in the favour of the athlete. so lets hope either way this sale will be better for the sport and not end up like ASO @ the World tour
