The annual permit will soon be very affordable when you compare it to the day fee. Gulp. But not all is lost. We still have plans to correct the value factor.

I have one quick question. Do we want Tokai to open early? With all the work that's gone into it it would be a shame to leave it, as I'm being told is the better option.

there are those who don't have to count their ZAR's when things are cycling related and their are those who do have to

I hope the "pricing" is leaning towards the latter.

Like quite a few reserves, Cape point comes to mind. It used to be packed weekends, and now with the pricing the way it is, no one goes there anymore, except for tourists.

Yes, As Soon As Possible Please! Even if we only have access to jeep track remains, it would be a super supplement to the green belt, which is taking heavy traffic at the moment.

No, was known by various other names.. most commonly, "that all-mountain track in the middle, you know which one.."

You might want to get associated with this map in the meantime...

attachicon.gifTOKAI EARLY ACCESS MAP v5 (A2Sm).pdf

This really is becoming a reality. The excitement is growing.

Edit: I like the direction arrows, although I imagine that not everybody will feel the same.

Do the horsey people also get a map with a red-out area saying 'No Horse Access: Designated MTB riding area'?

Just like they don't like us in their area, I really don't like coming face to face, or face to hoof with a horse on the single track, and then having to deal with the attitude while they sit high up on said horse.

There is a very good understanding between the two groups. Nothing to fear..

deon: in one of the recent PPA missives from the CEO, it would appear the CEO personally arranged with sanparks to have PPA manage Tokai:

I had a meeting with the San Parks area manager responsible for Tokai and proposed a plan whereby PPA manages Tokai and ploughs the revenue from permits back into maintenance and expansion of  Tokai and the rest of the park’s cycling trails

Is the collaboration between TokaiMTB and PPA on the same page?

Lets just say the wording left a little to be desired as it is a collaborative effort between the two groups.
