Glad you're all still enjoying the trails! Agree with the sentiment of taking one's time to get over the doubt of clearing the features. All in good time..

In the next few days, together with the SANParks senior section ranger for the area, we'll walk the new (new) route that should add about 1.3km of singletrack to Tokai. Going to be a good one from early inspections!

Ohhh you're such a tease!

having a bromance with the Cobra all the way down (though wish the rest of the snake trails were like the top of Cobra as that is super fun). Now, if you could Cobra into AM then that would be awesome. :)

I know right...

The trails at Tokai are running soooo good and thanks to all who contributed to their re-habilitation...entry fees are still a bug bear but the annual card is a win if you intend frequenting the hill a lot, plus it gets you legit access to the new trails on Table Mountain (a whole lot of other fun!) News of additional trails is also fantastic...all we now need is full time access....but guess we will have to wait for that. So the last month I been hitting it every weekend and here's a clip of full runs down my favourite bits!

Guys is the level 5 ( I think) - the part that goes to the Silvermine gate open again? I recall it being closed due to felling.

I've come down from Silvermine a few times, when you get to a split (I think level 5 left and level 4 right), you have to go right, left is closed off.  Still gets you to where you need to go though.

Yes. There is a slight route change tho.

On the road where DH1 starts you carry on with that road. You don't take the split up to level 5. Where the entrance to boulders is you carry on going. Then basically follow that road. There'a a steep climb to get up to level 5 and then on to the gate.

Okay - will probably go up Boulders and at the top turn left

The AM trails looks sick. Is it new? I've only been to tokai once since it opened again. We only hit cobra, mamba and boomslang followed by dh2 and 3 which were all sick!

No, all virtually on the same lines as before the fire, with here and there a small deviation. But, yes, they are great, with a LOT more flow now.
