Miracles do happen, it seems...

In this case the virgin mary looks like a Race doc with some smarts and a trauma unit with skills - if you want to call it a miracle - go ahead.

Still a long road to recovery for Keagan and his family but I understand its progressing well.

That would be a definite Yes!

Or angelic protection or however you wish to define it.

Does calling it a miracle take away from the actions of the supremely dedicated doctors, EMT's, ambulance driver and the ER staff? I would say that's a no. For me it adds to calling it a miracle. This is the sort of situation doctors, like yourself, train for. It is because of this training and because of their dedication and professional attitudes and decisions that this young man is still alive. I like to believe that this passion for serving people in such a way is God inspired even if the person doing so doesn't see it that way. And this is my reason for seeing it as a miracle.

Without getting into an ecclesiastical argument, for this is not the place for it, surely god would not put this chap through such an ordeal.

Anyway. What an utterly frightening story, so chuffed Keagan is fighting his way out of it. Go boy.

Wow, going to have one helluva story to tell, keep fighting boytjie!

with the Pro Tour team cleaning up at le Tour, have they made any references to him and his recovery? any shout outs from the podium or interviews by Cav or Cummings?

Calling it a miracle is giving a big, fat "**** you" to the medical and emergency staff who had the skills, smarts and balls to save this chap. There was no angelic protection or divine intervention.

Big up to the peeps that pulled this chap back from the brink.

Odinson please read my post again. I am calling it a miracle because of the medical staff. Without their actions Keegan wouldn't be alive.

Last reply, because we're digressing.

You're still attributing this miracle to god, in that you think that it was god that enabled the medical staff to save Girdlestone. You're projecting your own religious ideas onto this situation. It was hard working and dedicated people that saved him. End van prent.

Here is a definition of "miracle" for future reference:

miracle
ˈmɪrək(ə)l/
noun
noun: miracle; plural noun: miracles
  1. an extraordinary and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore attributed to a divine agency.
"the miracle of rising from the grave"
synonyms: supernatural phenomenon, mystery, prodigy, sign
"his first miracle was to turn water into wine"
    • a remarkable event or development that brings very welcome consequences.
"it was a miracle that more people hadn't been killed"
    • an exceptional product or achievement, or an outstanding example of something.
"a machine which was a miracle of design"
synonyms: wonder, marvel, sensation, phenomenon, astonishing feat, amazing achievement
      "Germany's economic miracle"

Yes there have been a few vid's from the team riders, Cav did get involved but think it was before the tour had started

Indeed we are. And perhaps I am wrt my view of this incident. Either way it is a remarkable that Keegan is alive and yes regardless of personal views we might hold the medical staff certainly deserves to be applauded for their efforts and once again I do actually applaud them for it. Regardless of my interpretation they are at the heart of that being so.

FYI for me to hold the professional qualification that I do within the maritime industry I need to be a level three first aider, so I have a reasonable understanding of what they faced, so I really do find it very remarkable that Keegan is alive. Under different circumstances that might not have been the case.
