Minnaar is obviously their posterchild for the next few seasons still and with Luca coming in potentially as understudy Ratboy is starting to look mighty lonely without Peat around.

Did you recognize the trails Minn was riding? Looked like Morzine. Only much faster and easier.

Yip.  Pleney with a trail lid on sitting down. Over the roots.  Because I'm Gregg Minnaar.

I would love to see Loic and his sidekick on the Syndicate next year with Greg. I am not a fan of ratboy, he seems like the type who would have voted out in the Brexit refeyendum.

And Gee seems like a real introvert, with a bit of Kanye thrown in.

Wyn TV is the one thing i look forward to every World cup!

mixed feelings on that one ... could do without the beer-swilling alcohol bravado,  really that's a road to nowhere. But he is quite amusing.

i find it dull. if it were funny and insightful on some meaningful level, i'd tolerate it. worth a few brainless cheap sniggers.  No wonder Rachel told him to f'off, and then he goes and make a meal of it. cheap.

I think you used the correct word there. Cheap.

Walking around with a banana doing interviews cheapens the sport IMO. How can you expect the sport to get mainstream recognition when there's an oke going interviews with a banana, syringe etc?

Lame.

Then again do we want it to go mainstream?

Also. It's a matter of time before Warner gets lured across to motorsport full time. I've already heard his voice on a touring car commentary. WSBK in it's heyday was made all the more exiting by the commentary of Leigh Diffey. He's now commentating on touring car and grand am racing in the US.

Must say I'm not a huge Warner fan. He comes across half arsed and ill informed. He was better when rat arsed and allowed to say what he liked.  As for his fake hair and dye - WTF. He and Bart on the XC is plain terrible. Compare them to the TDF, super bike/moto  commentators and there is a gulf in entertainment value and intelligence. Its all a bit juvenile in MTB I'm afraid.

RedBullTV have Sal Masekele in the bag now since he left the X-games a few years ago. They should use him for a season or 2. I know he is a board sports guy but he did a great job commentating on dirt jump and rally cross at the X-games.

WynTV is an unfiltered insight to the riders in a casual environment.  It's just a guy walking around talking crap to people we always see in a clinical package signed off by their sponsors.  I agree he's not always as fluid and funny, but he has some gem moments and it's still content.  More content means the sport is growing.

It's pretty hard to sound genuinely excited and amped when the winning time is posted on the second run of the broadcast.  You try make rider after rider coming through with red timing splits sound amazing.  You may get a job offer from Red Bull.

As for his hair colour, really?  I reckon your own mid-life crisis is showing there.

On the XC, what would you actually propose that content sound like?  It's two hours of lap after lap, seldom with any real shift in tempo or pressure.  Nino in the lead....Nino still in the lead....yip Nino wins.  Their forced to talk shite in between.  Like test cricket.  90% of commentary is about everythign but the cricket being played.

So basically just as with Oscar Pistorius and everyone being a lawyer, it seems everyone is a sports commentator.

Oh, and did I mention it's free?  Yeah, there's that.

Jurre you okes are fussy... As nico says he gives an insight into the riders lives from a peers perspective. Funny thing is Warner did the exact same thing as Wynn a few seasons ago and noone thought anything of it. It's all just good fun... The Atherton's told them to f off because of the whole trek GT thing.

if you don't like it, don't fk'n watch it.

Imagine a south african broadcasting entity spending the money to bring these events to you live for free.

nothing stops you from listening to some kickass tunes while watching the visuals.
