It will show on the international tracking site if it's hit SA yet, took mine about 2 days to show from when it left.

I ordered a few things from Evanscycles. Left the UK on monday, Was delivered today @15h00.

DHL. I like how the customs fees can be paid on their platform so no waiting for an eft to clear. Always weary about our very own SAPO

Good luck though

Allways use DHL Express.

I ordered tools, stand, tyres and used "priority", it took 8 days, but I collected at JIMS myself. Also ordered bars, brakes, etc. and used DHL, took 4 days to be delivered to my office.

With EMS/Correos, you have to be all over SAPO like a rash, or you'll wait until one of them calls you. Once you have the international tracking number from Correos, and you see it has left Europe, call them every morning.

I am very fortunate that I can order stuff on CRC and then just go and collect it from their warehouse or just go to the retail store and buy it. Problem being that a visit to the warehouse can very quickly become very costly. Popped in to their retail store on Saturday to grab some chamois cream and ended up with a new helmet and various other items that I did not know I needed. Lol

On the other side of the coin, I would rather pay SA prices to have the quality and level of maintenance service that I had from my LBS in SA, Tool Up Cycles. If I could find an equivalent here, I would rather pay the extra.

Bike parts is supposed to be 15.4% excluding the shipping amount. So customs only on the parts.

Hope this helps. From which shop you thinking of getting parts from?

Hi.

Thanks.

Looking at spending R7600 on CRC... so what will the final cost be once it has cleared into SA?

Hi.

Like Mopkop mentioned:

R 7 600 * 0.154 = R1 170.4 in VAT + TAX costs.

Then you add shipping costs if any.

Also handling / disbursement fees (if any). With DHL, this is typically R150.

Total = R 7 600 + R1 170.4 = R 8770.40

Now, also remember, just because your shopping basket shows R7600, does not mean your credit card will be billed for R7600. Your / their bank(?) will add a conversion fee. Not sure how much, but it can cost you about R100 to R200 extra.

I see DHL have made a couple of significant, and most welcome changes to how they deliver their service.

1) they offer their own online portal. Previously, you had to create a DHL beneficiary, and mail them the proof of payment. They had accounts at different banks, so you could align your beneficiary details to your specific bank which made for practically instanteous transfers and POP send offs. However, I had a problem with their ABSA account, which seemed to be reserved for their big-ticket clients only.

They take more ownership of the annoying details with the new changes which makes our lives a lot easier. You can still pay via EFT if you so wish, but this new way is much more convenient.

2) They allow you to schedule your delivery according to your availability. This is really nice touch. Also their delivery slot clearly states:  "Scheduled for Today by End of Day". I hope this means that they will try multiple times during the day of scheduled delivery. Previously, I had to call them back to deliver, or when they really pissed me off, got a depot manager to drop it off over weekends.

3) they have local pick-up locations. So if you are unsure of a delivery day, they'll drop it off at a local pick-up point, from which you can pay any charges and collect the package from, at your convenience.

Thumbs up DHL!

Nedbank has a facility where you can see what yesterdays exchange rate was - including their fee etc.  - looked like it was higher by a few R100 than my chain reaction basket. Maybe the other cards have the same I just googled Nedbank credit card exchange rate.
