If you are happy about sharing someone else's sweat and greasy hair, then go for it.

Like me, I guess you will also not buying a second hand used bib shorts here

I think helmets are the biggest ripoff ever. "it's a safety' item, don't skimp. yada yada.

if the helmet passes the tests, then it's safe. Your R200 Bell could be just as safe as your R4k (seriously) FADBrand. you pay for comfort, and a megaton of marketing.

see how much a hard hat costs? R25bucks, and construction sites are full of them and they really need them!

Uh you think the food sell by date is hocus?

So its cool to leave it on the shelf till it starts growing penicillin?

yes and no.

ery day, workers at grocery stores and convenience stores in Montana carry out a sad ritual.  They come in, check the “sell-by” dates on their milk and throw out any milk that’s past the date. Montana throws more milk down the drain than other states because the sell-by date on the milk is required by state law to be just 12 days after pasteurization (the industry standard is 21 days). After these 12 days, Montana law requires that the milk be thrown away. It can’t be sold or donated. Thousands of gallons of milk are thrown away each week that many believe is perfectly fine to drink.

2 hours a day, 5 times a week ? I would imagine that many of us put in our weekly rides in the dark and its only on the weekends that we are exposed to the elements for a few hours.

Joys of being self employed!

I've never heard anyone say after an accident/fall ...man I wish I spent less on my helmet. man I'm glad I took the most expensive option.

Just saying.

Yup, I do.

The food wasted purely by the "sell by" idea can feed half the hungry on earth. Together with what is dumped simply because it is too big / small / the wrong colour / has a dimple, we can feed the rest.

No, I think food should stay on the shelf as long as it is safe to eat, but the price should come down as it deteriorates. You know, so my granny can buy the over ripe peaches to make her delicious jam, rather than her having to pay top dollar for fresh ones, or them ending in the landfill. But the shop would rather sell her a tin of pale jam, I know, life is unfair.

Ps. Sorry, I know it's a hijack and has zero to do with 2nd hand helmets.
