Lauf Fork?

I'm looking for someone to talk me into it because I really need my arm twisted to buy new bike stuff

Why would someone with the hub name "racing4lauf" be looking for opinions on buying a lauf fork?

Now if memory serves me there was an old thread where this fork was touted and then there were one or two accounts that popped up punting it and it turned out to be the person who was distributing the forks back then.

 

This was some time ago, and could have fallen into the black hole with the Hub meltdown.

My current fork on my gravel hardtail isn’t exactly heavy at 1160 and that’s 100mm travel normal fork - still, I’m not opposed to a new piece of lightweight gear - it’s mostly for gravel - one for sale in classifieds right now

ok dirtypot, you had me at "it'll be lighter" - just pulled the trigger on another bike part I don't need.  It's got so bad I send the stuff straight to my LBS - they are less judgey than my wife

I come from a surfing background and we have a quiver. Different boards for different conditions - is this not how cycling works? Wish someone had let me know before I blew my pension.

No the Open is amazing - yesterday I took it on my 30k loop which is how I judge myself. 2 minutes faster and came home into a headwind.

Lauf fork needs a new project and it just so happens I have a plan..

No for sure, different bike for different conditions. I just imagined the lauf would be going on a bike similar to the Open... but the there is nothing wrong with more than one bike for the same conditions haha

There are several "fringe" alternative systems, this being one.  I'm sure it has a small following of disciples, but for me I think its name says it all.

Did not realise there are that many rad people from that side of the world on the hub! 

 

We got a van at Island lake so visit the area regularly!

back to the story, how has Lauf forks done? You'd think they would either be a success or the fad would die down and they'd disappear. It's hard to remain a unique niche product with so many trusted alternatives.

 

They're totally unique, and i don't see any copy cats out there.

does any manufacturer large spec a model with them, even design around them?
