Spruit what's going on??

Whats going on along the spruit? I'm sure the vagrants don't want to be there as much as it's not cool having them there. But wow, the icing was seeing a guy bathing/ showering completely naked by the trail head while taking a leak?

These people obviously come from somewhere. They settle on the spruit as it is a water source to wash in and maybe drink from if u have an iron stomach. Build a shack and u just need food to eat. If this is tolerated by people living along the spruit (behind fences and high walls.. can they even see these squatters? ) and tolerated by the police and local authorities then this will grow. Thats how diepsloot began and many other squatter camps. They squat for free and it turns into a little town. This is africa. In a little town or squatter camp the residents do need to pee and wash etc and its usually done by the water source ie the spruit. For a mountain biker it may not visually appealing or smell too good. The real issue would be safety really as if people have no food to eat they wont hesitate to attack u and rob u of your money cell phone and perhaps bike to flog off somewhere. And that would just ruin a good sunny day out on the spruit....

On Sunday a lot of apostolic church's come and cleanse and baptise in the spruit

The only thing deterring "poor people" trying to live in eagle canyon and having a bath in the lekker dams you have there is the 24h armed guards.

You also don't know all the things that I do to try and make a difference for those who have less.

You should calm down, I'm saying the tables will be turned if you did not have the fences keeping vagrants out. Perhaps you too will comment on the hub about some dude having a clean with his Johnson out while you are having a morning coffe on the veranda.

 

There are bigger issues than these people trying to live. It had to be really crap where they come from in order for "living " next to the spruit to be a better prospect.

I will not calm down if you want to accuse me of throwing stones from behind "my big wall". If you want to get personal with me, then don't moan when I retaliate.

 

We are not taking about home invasions here, the OP was taking about people washing along his cycling route! A route that I ride often.

 

And to answer your question, if I found a homeless person bathing in one of these so called "Lekker dams", no I personally would not come and comment on the Hub about it.
