Hoekom almal net my veroordeel van begin af,ek aanvaar dit.

Double j betaal jou verkoopte bike by BIKELIFE klaar en koop n nuwe dan weet jy alles is 100%.

DOUBLE J good luck buying your new bike.

ps. I offer him this bike.

Either this Connie is a major troll and a fake account for some backstreet vendor...

Or he is just ignorant, and beyond arrogant, of the fact that it is totally immoral and unethical to do what he is doing.

Connie, please remove the Philipians bible quote from your profile. You are shameful

Under the consumer Protection Act of 2012 all goods new or second hand have an automatic 6-month warranty.

Under the act you have the 3 R's .. Replace, Repair or Refund

So i don't know why you don't take the bike back and exercise your rights ?

Got refunded in full. Bike will go back. This whole thing opened my eyes a bit to situations I put myself into because of impulsive decision making. So I'm going to try and set things right and will be getting out of cycling for a while....think I'll take up Cross-fit. I heard it's mandatory you need to tell everyone you getting into that sport.

Won't quit, but honestly this thread put quite a few things in perspective for me which I truly am grateful for.

Will pay my dues then start to build up something I can use to get back into cycling for the reasons I started in the first place...because it's fun. I haven't been riding for long, maybe 3 years, but I reckon I lost sight of why I started cycling once the "10grams off the bike needs to be lost here and Interval training needs to be done there" bug bit me. So, I've got some parts lying around, I've decided I want to slowly build up a Singlespeed bike and leave my Strava phone at home once I get back into it again.

Currently....that's where my mind's at. I sincerely hope it doesn't change.

Now that's a great idea

singlespeeds are basically BMXs for grown ups. It will take a while to get the strength to really enjoy it, but the uncomplicated side of riding is way underrated!

Welcome to SA my friend.

Just drop more than 30K on a bike. Sale went well, got the bike within a week. Picked the bike up, first impression of bike shop - good.

1 Week later - got ripped off for R300 labour to put in tokens in my Pike (which, by the way is a 5min job and no warranties are void if you do it yourself).

Left a moerse sour taste in my mouth. Won't be going back, but will have to for any warranty claims on my bike.

Bleh....

That R300 is the retail price of the token pack (they come in 3's) so that isn't exactly surprising.

I know a bike shop that just splits them out and sells one at a time. Sometimes you don't need the full pack

R300? Feck I got charged R550 for a pack the other week... they did fit them for free though as I drank my cortado and munched on my wheat free, organic, banting friendly, artisanal omelette... but still.
