How many minutes would you estimate Louis needs over Yates going into the TT?

Very rough estimate can be made if you look at the TT on day 1.

Louis gave up 35s over 14km.

This coming TT is 22km, so proportionality he could lose around 50s to him.

But there is allot of difference between that first stage and this one, so almost impossible to predict.

This stage actually has some climbing, where the first one was flat, which should be better for Louis.

Maybe Louis has more left in the legs than Yates. We can't know.

Safe to say though that Louis probably needs to be ahead of Yates before the TT starts to having a chance.

Much the same story between Froome and Bardet. Bardet needs to be ahead to have a shot. Uran on the other hand might just surprise everyone if he is close enough after tomorrow.

You've got to love this year's Tour. So much up in the air until the very end

Things that were amazing today, Uran, that oke, I have flash backs of him 2 years ago in TDF when he was blown out the group when it was still 30 people in the group. Good to see he has brought his legs from the Giro to le Tour.

Yates showing fatigue in week 3 like last year, time for the Maincheese to get his UAE team to turn up the heat first thing tomorrow. If push comes to shove I think he should even give it a go on the Izoard. I doubt Froome/Uran/Bardet would chase with him 6 minutes back. Only person who would cover would be Yates. Its 10km of up, plenty of KM to lose time.

Contador - Today was seen huffing and puffing on a asthma pump on the stage, Its not even TUEsday. Yes his attack was cute, much like when savage attack. Kudo's for giving it a go, but I do not think the YJ group blinked an eye lid.

Most exciting TDF in a long time.... So stoked for Uran. What a class rider. #silentassassin

Loving it. Upset there's only 3 days left. What we going to be doing once it's done. Suppose it's just fair the rider's get a chance to properly recover before the Vuelta comes along. Some of the rider's look totally spent. Here's hoping for a great last few days racing

Flip, only now realised we have mountains, flat roads, TT then champagne!

“I am very disappointed and I don’t know how to describe my feelings at the moment. To go home with five stage victories is great, but to go home because of a crash and before hitting Paris is a major disappointment. I couldn’t do anything to avoid that crash and lost some skin on my shoulder, back, elbow and hip, which are a bit swollen. I tried to carry on, but pedaling was just painful, especially as in the last couple of days I had to fight with stomach problems and a cold. Now I will take some time to recover before returning to racing and I’m confident the joy of winning five stages at the Tour de France will help me overcome these difficult moments.”

More feedback from Uran and Bardet after yesterdays stage:

In the post-stage emotion, French star Romain Bardet (Ag2r La Mondiale) criticized Urán for not following his wheel when he attacked. The fuming Frenchman chastised the Colombian for racing without panache. Bardet suggested Urán was only saving his strength for the finish-line time bonuses.

When a French journalist asked for his reaction to Bardet’s comments, Urán just shrugged.

“I don’t want to say anything. Everyone has their own manner of racing,” Urán said. “When you don’t have a team as strong as Sky, with climb so far away and such a long downhill, it doesn’t make much sense to attack. In the end, I worked to take some time on [Fabio] Aru.”

When the journalist pressed Urán, and asked him if he would attack in Thursday’s mountaintop finale, Urán countered: “Why don’t you ask Bardet?”

With that, Urán had the last laugh.

Why was serge pauwels helping Simon Yates?

Mind blowing stupid...He was riding for like 12th place on the stage and he is not in GC fight.Think Yates would have lost more than another 30 seconds..maybe even a minute if he had to do it all alone.

But ja the bloods flowing and he probably just wants to get a good stage placing.

Sooooo..... Apparently AC's time up the Col de la Coix de Fer is the fastest ever.

Mr Wakefield any comments on this?

If you read my article on why they going faster or as fast there a lot of answers in there for you but if we take it from a different angle on Contador alone he always gets better and goes stronger as a Tour gets deeper into the weeks. He responds vey well to load and volume. If you see how he has gone over the last 2.5 weeks he has actually gotten better and better. so this may mean he he came in well under done and battled in the beginning.

He also hasn't done much over the last few days and could of recovered well into these 2 days and it is also well known he goes very well in the Alps. he always has over the last forever years.

Again, it was a huge once off effort, much like Aru wins, and AC paid for it later towards the end but Contador is well known also for these type of efforts and attacks go for broke.
