I think it will be yates to blow up Louis to out last and out climb him - again - just hopefully today by much more. GO LOUIS!!!

Martin seems fatigue and the constant chasing is catching up Aru seems to be struggling too and I think yesterday was the final nail - if he tries today I think he will blow up badly - HANG IN THERE MARTIN!!!

But first to go and blow will be Nairo again even if he even tries something and Alberto was a surprise yesterday but Nairo looks unmotivated.

I see Froomey, Uran and Bardet at the end - this has not changed. Froome does not seem to be taking his foot off the accelerator...

Uran and Bardet have looked super strong and Uran is now the biggest threat with his time trial ability but Col D'Izoard will have the last say.

Im telling you, with no Olympics to use an excuse, Cav crashed himself out of the race to avoid these big stages.

More time with Peta (30).....why not!

If you read my article on why they going faster or as fast there a lot of answers in there for you. I found your article very interesting and while no doubt all credible reasons behind the modern day performances when compared to the doping era. However, I find it hard to believe that these marginal improvements in equipment, diet, training and extra cars in the race can replace the blatant drug assisted race performances of the past. but if we take it from a different angle on Contador alone he always gets better and goes stronger as a Tour gets deeper into the weeks. Maybe, and yes he did have a great ride for a section of yesterdays stage but still off the pace at the end of the stage and he is falling further behind as the tour goes on. He responds very well to load and volume. If you see how he has gone over the last 2.5 weeks he has actually gotten better and better. so this may mean he he came in well under done and battled in the beginning.

He also hasn't done much over the last few days and could of recovered well into these 2 days and it is also well known he goes very well in the Alps. he always has over the last forever years.

Again, it was a huge once off effort, much like Aru wins, and AC paid for it later towards the end but Contador is well known also for these type of efforts and attacks go for broke. Contador, like so many of Sky's rivals needs better advice. If you are going to spend energy in an effort you need to get a result. These days Alberto, sadly, is not achieving the same results he once did. Bardet has had team mates up the road on a few days this year, yesterday was the same, problem was that once he reached his team mate he went straight past and received no assistance. My point is that AGLM are using up valuable resources and not achieving much. I believe Bardet is going to be a real talent, but desperately needs a sports director with more brains. Louis received some assistance yesterday from his team and yes it paid dividends but I cant help but think that at one stage yesterday Bontempi was thinking of a stage win for Atapuma. This was not to be and he was able to help Louis.

Froome's performance has not been exceptional, it's just been consistent. Other riders need to pay attention to this as do the team managers. No doubt they lack the resources that Sky has but they are well short of strategy.

So no outrage about the use of an asthma pump yesterday? okie dokie....

Someone should really look into the dangers of cycling, seems like if you cycle long enough you will develop asthma, not worth the risk IMO...

All I want to see today is Louis attack from the beginning of that final climb. Just go for it, mate.

To be frank if needs 3 minutes on Yates going into the TT he might need to attack on the first climb. Let's see what happens.

I think Kittel abandoned because he is a wuss and possibly ruined his hairstyle in that crash.

Im stoked for Bling though, he was working super hard for that green jersey and I think he would have possibly taken it from Kittel before all was said and done.

This was always a real possibility that he would pull the plug here, but I really think he was injured enough to drop it. Bling (and sunweb in general) did a helluva job pulling the lead back to only 9 points, but it was still always going to come down to Paris. After cav and sagz pulled out i checked the betting odds. Kittel/demare were basically even money, bling was 4/1 and greipel 18/1. greipel is now 40/1. Thinking of putting R200 on that, one crash to bling and that's R8k thank you!

Pauwels was going for a stage result. He was close to a potential top 10 which is a huge result on a stage like that for a rider like him and that has moved him into the Top 20 overall on GC.

Top 20 on GC at a Tour is a small increase in salary come negotiation time.

I'm a bit confused by Pauwel's job here. assumed he was going for a stage win like yesterday - and he did roll the dice on the final climb. To come top20 GC is alright, but hardly looks like that has been the intention
