Rocket-Boy Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 Man I dont think I have been so happy about a stage win for ages! Edvald really deserved that one, I was yelling at him to get to that line.Such a happy oke afterwards.
Albatross Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 EBH and Arndt looked to have been forced out to the right around a traffic circle a few kms from the finish whist the rest of the group chose left, right was waaayyy shorter and probably set them up for the stage win.

Real cracker of a finish that one.

seanp Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 Saw there were 2 withdrawals on yesterday's stage. Can understand withdrawing on the prior day's mountain stages, but why on a long but relatively easier stage? Must be heart breaking to be so close to the end of the tour but not to finish.
Bonus Posted July 22, 2017 Author Posted July 22, 2017 Here's a couple of videos from the side of the road last Thursday . . . . The first two taken at our first viewing spot of the day on a short climb outside the village of "Antichan-de-Frontignes". The second two were taken just 3km away from the first spot, but because of the "loop" nature of the route we had over an hour to get there. The outskirts of the village of "Salechan". In the second two clips the chase is on approaching the base of the Col de Peyresourde and Sky are pulling the train. The quality isn't brilliant but what I'm trying to convey is the excitement you get when you hear the helicopters, then you see the police bikes and then finally the race comes through. You really have to be there! :-)   https://youtu.be/GBBa6LLhD9c https://youtu.be/Gra96sa05BI https://youtu.be/CiMUUZmD9Ek https://youtu.be/ZPc0FD9w_sU Â
