Frosty Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 Thomas De Gendt has been in the break on no fewer than eleven stages of this Tour, picking up more than €10,000 in prize money from climbs and intermediate sprints, and amassing over a thousand kilometres – 1,047, according to L’Équipe’s tally – off the front of the race. CyclingnewsI hope think he deserves the most combative rider of the tour. The fact that he is on my Hub Fantasy team has nothing to do with my feelings...nothing at all Haven't checked every page to see if anyone else has posted De Gendt's post of Twitter... if someone just emphasises the fact that he does deserve it. https://twitter.com/guimfo/status/888777244730155008
SwissVan Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 If the jury are French they will probably pull a blind one and vote for Barguil
Frosty Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 If the jury are French they will probably pull a blind one and vote for Barguilof course! there's probably a bit of sarcasm in his post too...
shaper Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 of course! there's probably a bit of sarcasm in his post too...Been given to Barguil. Already been updated on wikipedia, hence the sarcasmhttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Combativity_award_in_the_Tour_de_France Team Sunweb’s Warren Barguil, in the polka dot jersey of the mountains classification winner, was awarded the “super combativity” prize for the most aggressive rider in this year’s race http://sport.tahminimce.net/2017/07/22/froome-set-to-win-fourth-tour/
dev null Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 Upset about that Combativity award. Fark sakes, firstly; De Gendt was in way more breaks, and secondly, Barguil already gets the Polka Dot jersey. But, ya, the French. What did one expect. As one friend of mine said, Paris would have been one of the nicest cities on earth to live in if it was not for the Frenchies in it.
Bub Marley Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 Technically Landa is in the 3rd given that Bardet was supposed to be docked time for that feeding incident. Pretty ridiculous really. I honestly hope he loses his podium spot tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Bub Marley Posted July 22, 2017 Posted July 22, 2017 Can I also just say that Bardet's performance today was pretty pathetic. I've never seen a cyclist panic as much as him today. The way he went up that steep section was amateur like. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

In fact, Meintjes did damn well matching Yates, who is known to be much better than him normally. Bardet looked like a stiff on that bike.

Bonus Posted July 22, 2017 Author Posted July 22, 2017 From personal experience I can tell you if you walk through any Spanish town or village and greet people with an "Hola" you will get a smile and a reply. In France you get a sort of a sneer . . . . Lol
Bonus Posted July 22, 2017 Author Posted July 22, 2017 Spanish TV news is full of the "1 second difference" issue at the moment. Tomorrow will be interesting . . .
Bonus Posted July 22, 2017 Author Posted July 22, 2017 We've seen some great racing from the riders this Tour, in fact the only thing that has really marred it is the ludicrous race jury.

shaper Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 You can also Google that Bardet is saying he was ill before the start of the TT and is the reason he is giving for the poor performance http://www.foxsports.com/cycling/story/the-latest-froome-likely-to-target-tour-vuelta-double-072217 http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/bardet-i-did-the-time-trial-with-my-head-rather-than-my-legs/
