Supplements: Which brand do you currently use and what will you use in future?

Training Rides under 4 hours - Water only

 

Training Rides over 4 hours - High5 Zero Cal Tablets and real food, or the occasional Llama bar.

 

Races: High 5 Energy Mix and goos. Powerbar before the race.

 

Enervit stuff is cool too, use that on the odd occasion.

 

I stay away from USN because of their snake oil campaigns.

Seriously, since I have started using it, I can't rate it highly enough. I have tried all sorts over the years and eventually stopped supplements all together because I couldn't find one that worked and also didn't make me feel like I had been eating sweets all day. Tried SIS on the recommendation of a lad in Chain Reaction whilst I was prepping for Sani and have never looked back. Easy on the stomach, very low to no sugar, not terrible tasting and easily available (here in the U.K. Anyway).

I use Game/Oros when I go ride. I don't race anymore but when I did I used Cytomax Cool Citrus/Pomegranate (Taste was manageable over an extended period of time and didn't attack my teeth like Energade/Powerade.

 

Tried GU and most of the other gels but couldn't find one that I liked.

 

A few years ago, there was an imported product called Honey Stinger available but the exchange rate made it stupidly expensive in the end and they stopped importing it. Pity because ALL their products were very tasty and easy to get down while on the bike.

Based on this thread, I purchased some Cadence on Fri with Saturdays 106km Bestmed in mind.

Not sure if it was the drink or just a good day, but I had a fantastic ride. Even Hekpoort was not a struggle.
