Why not?

Surely if you put in a decent amount of training and your mind is right.....

Apologies, that was just a personal attack from my side on the original "mid-packer" - jcza...

If you've got a good mental game, can ride a bike pretty well and can find the time to prep accordingly - you can probably do the Munga. It's definitely not for everyone though. The mental side in particular, I reckon you need to have the 'beast mode' setting available for when you inevitably hit one of the many many dark places out there.

I've seen enough tub-thumping on here not to be offended any longer. Training starts next week!

Ask the question !! This is not a race for front runners in my opinion . They are used to 100km flatout followed by a massage and 12 hour sleep . I am not even a middle of the pack races , more like in the Sweeper class and races like this appeals to me . For me it will not even be a race but an adventure thats got a cut-off . If you think you can do it , go and buy a bicycle and do it .

Yip! Much better than lobbing keyboard grenades into the ether hoping to affect those with the cojones to attempt such a brave feat!

Dirt-rider  I agree with you 100%.

Was just querying from Andrew why he said it was not for mid-packers. He cleared it up in his next post.

you finishing a race in the desert with 2 min to spare showed me that anyone can do anything, they just have to want to. It was that thread that inspired me to do the the ride. and things worked out well.

It is going to be interesting talking to folk about this race, but if you pace yourself and plan accordingly, the ride will be hard, but manageable. In the end, a year from now we will know.
