From the rules on the website

That's like a no cash return policy at Incredible Connection, we will exchange it for another crap product.

No I will take the cash back option[emoji23]

We would like to join if we may. Ride road one day and then take folks interested in mtb the other day.

Gen consider riding with Gerald. Eventhough there will not be full road closure he is very experienced and will keep you safe. Plus I don't want to be the only girl along for this sufferfest :)

Once I've spoken to everyone at the club and know the numbers interested, I'll share the details.

We're staying in the Hilton area, so we may end up riding to the start and then ride the route. Others are welcome to join as it makes for good company and perhaps better visibility for motorists.

Will probably be on Sunday morning as originally planned - some of us are driving down Saturday morning.

We provisionally have two ladies riding.

From Hilton you will be doing a decent 200km.

I'm happy to hear other ladies are riding, but we can talk closer to the time about pace.  Your "ladies" are probably faster than many of the guys :w00t: I wont ride if Ill be slowing you guys down

Gerald, to totally hijack this, how many go on your club rides?

I ask because there was a thing on the radio this morning. Something about if there are more than 6 people (something like that) attending an organised event, one needs to obtain permission. Loads of folk chatted about cyclists, but also picnics with families on the beach, birthday parties, etc.

Just wondering what would happen if a cop stops you ... "no officer, we are individuals and we all just ride at the same speed. No officer, Gerald, that oke with the chicks at the back, he organised nothing. No, thats not his Mrs chasing him down with the car that looks like our team kit."

Slowbee that cant be correct. Every club ride or family event would be illegal

Yep, thats what came up in the discussion. Many Mom's were saying there family Sunday lunch would be illegal. I am just not sure about where the gathering takes place. There must be some kinda clause of "pubic gathering".

Was some antiquated rule that is there, but they enforce it when it suits. Mostly its just ignored - until needed.

I will certainly be riding the route next Sunday. Whether it's timed, there is a start and finish line, CSA sanctioned, roads closed or not. It's beautiful out there and roads are quiet and in great condition. At most there is a 50km stretch where there isn't a pub, farm stall, hotel, spaza shop that serves drinks, food etc. If you've spent your money booking, I think you would be crazy not to go down and ride around the midlands anyway.

There are three of us who are coming down from JHB. Accomodation paid for so may as well enjoy the weekend. Would love to join with others riding the route. Anybody keen to organize a ride start time?
