This happened in the C-group.

If the truck from the front did not almost stop, and used the whole emergency lane this would have ended VERY badly.

Yes the 99e road race. The truck passing us just did not feel like waiting for a 30sec to pass us safely, or even for his OWN safety

What road was this?

I understand the logistical nightmare it must be to close A road , but to have a cycling race on an open road is bloody idiotic my honest opinion

Truck driver was at fault here yes.

And that part of the R44 is even worse than normal, loads of fast moving trucks using that road - I generally avoid that stretch between the N1 and Windmeul when training even though there is a wide yellow line.

There are a few races using that stretch and there have been a number of close calls in the past....

To be fair though the 99er only uses a small stretch of that road but that would not have been a consolation if anything happened...

Yes truck driver is wrong, BUT that group is broken up, why are the riders riding on the line when there is more than enough space.

Those okes are being pretty douchy

Genuinely can't see the problem here except that the cyclists are not making an effort to keep left.

There's another truck coming from the front which does make the overtake a bit dodge.

but agree with you 100%
