Do you have to enter twice to do a double, or what is the procedure?

Suddenly my new girlfriend wants to ride and wants to have me ride with her. The only way that will happen is if I do a double.

I think you just got to be back early enough to start with her batch.

Got crap last year about needing to remove my chip before allowed to leave on second lap and that I should have requested the double lap on entry (which was an option last year but not this year)

If you finish in time before her batch starts you should just be able to roll through and start with her. That is if everything stays the same as previous years.

Unless of course they take the same approach as CTCT, which requires you to hand in an access card to be able to get to the start line. In such a case they will be able to prevent you from gaining access to the start because your won't have two access cards unless you are registered to do a double lap. At this stage the only way to do a double leggally is to partner with one of the charities that are doing it.

you are riding Elite, so you'll be back by 08:00 (assuming you get you sub 2:30).

That will leave you plenty time to find the GF and make your way to the start line. And riding a second lap is not difficult, it just requires sufficient training and enough hydration/nutrition on the bike on the second lap.

Even a sub-3 from "D" will get one back to the start in time, but leaves about 10 mins from finish line to start line. A tight call, but possible.

Was in time to do 2nd from E last year with a 2:48 but the lady at the gate stopped me and gave me grief about not registering for a double loop.

Anyway... I got work to do to get as close to 2:30 this year. I hope a good group helps. Last year's solo suuuuuuuuuuuucked.

has anyone used bicycle transport for this? what would you recommend? I've found Movemybicycle and Cycloport so far.

I don't know much about Movemybicycle but I can definitely recommend Cycloport, Jason is really good guy as well

What do you do with your chip? Going over all the mats twice will set off some Racetec alarm bells
