Rant on.

I don't know why everyone has such a saak with bikeparks. Bikeparks are where the people that ultimately pay the riders salaries like to ride. And last weekend most of the riders looked like kooks on the super tech boggy stuff. I don't know about you people but I don't want to see an ex world champ walk her bike through a tech section.

That's just embarrassing.

If you look at Downhill Skiing. Watch those okes coming down the Streif in Kitzbuel. They are HHHAAAAAUUUULLIINGGGG ASS on wide open ski pistes and the winning margins are hundredths of seconds. It's so incredibly exiting. Nowhere do they do a fiddly little section in the trees. If DH wants to be taken seriously they need to improve the show. A LOT!

Also, I love how people who have never, and probably will never set foot on a track like Leogang somehow have an opinion verging on outrage.  Also also, the riders need to pick one - last year they were all getting boners for Les Gets' off camber natural steep corners.  Now they get it in a World Cup and it's shite???  This is getting silly.

I totally agree but after watching some ( a lot ) of the track walk videos i honestly believe I could do that track on my wee old hardtail.

You'd probably wet your pants when you saw how steep it is. Euro tracks are steep. Proper steep. Like NOTHING we have here.

I don't know you, so maybe, but I doubt it.  It's steep AF and those roots, stumps on steep off-camber will destroy 99% of the riding population.

Should have been "flame suit on".

Embarrassing as Manon's hiking incident was, the lovely OTB events made up for it. And then more importantly there were the few, the lucky or the properly skilled who made that bit of track look easy. I'd rather have that any day than sanitized berms and huge jumps, even if the speed is massive.

I think Manon has already moved on, its time you did too :-)

O man, I dont think majority of those riders would have made it thru that bog either. I had the opportunity of riding thru some just above ankle deep mud. I cant tell you it is stickier than dog poo and bubble gum on your shoe. Then not forget that majority of it is water making it extremely slippery and some holes and roots for good measure. Roots you cant see in wet mud!

It also showed that the most skilled/experienced riders managed to make it thru. Damn even Greg had is foot out pushing himself around the one corner.

I wonder how many of the "so called" great riders on here would of managed to ride that section.

I certainly would of love to try, but I probably would of OTB as well.

Prediction times, chaps.

Elite Men:

1. Gwin

2. Bruni

3. Hart

Elite Women:

1. Carpenter

2. Seagrave

3. Nicole

I'd agree with you on the men, perhaps Greg in the mix too though, but I think leaving out Ms Hannah is a serious error. Your love for Manon is palpable. Do you cyber stalk her?

It's tough. Some many legitimate podium contenders. Both Bruni and Hart have got a lot to prove after two pretty shitty rounds.

It really is palpable. Let's just say that if there is a pic/vid of Carpenter, I've found it and watched it. How can you not be absolutely smitten with this?

I've walked down the Leogang track.

Would I ride it? Yes. But only when it's perfectly dry, on my 160mm enduro machine with the seat slammed low, skipping all the jumps and with my brakes dragging most of the way down. As Duane as said, it's hard to picture the steepness until you've been there. To us mere mortals, this steepness makes the tech sections in the woods pretty much unrideable in anything less than absolutely perfect conditions. Even then...
