mention also needs to be made of mich hannah who also put down a good run...not a winning run...but a really solid run. Had it not been for the flat that developed, I'm sure he would have been a few places higher...he seems to be in good mik nick at the moment

it is. The chainless run last year actually adds credence to it. But you also have to pump them properly

Mark Wallace was actually turning the top splits green after his chain broke, but was slowed down when the chain and derailleur started to jam up the wheel. It goes to show that if you can jump and pump the top section of the track there is no need to pedal. Casing those top jumps (or any jump for that matter) always robs you of momentum.

Hannah was one of the riders that nailed those jumps.

really been enjoying his riding style (With matching pink gloves/goggles) and his down to earth vibe with the interviews .... seems like a really nice guy, even if he is an Aussie :P

Did anyone else see Hart's sick jump into the first wall ride.

Yeah, that was ..... I was like damn, why dont the other guys do that. It looked super quick at that part.

Did any one see Thirions crash?

Gutted for my man Thirion. Had a brutal OTB on the finish line jump and got helivac'd out.

I OTB'd like that on a tiny in comparison natural embankment jump in 2015. There is nothing quite as bad as feeling it happen and knowing how painful its going to get in a split second. Still probably the most painful crash I have ever had and my left shoulder will never look like the right shoulder again. I can imagine what must have gone through his head when he realized what was coming....

Was thinking the same thing. Must've been a terrible sensation feeling the back of the bike starting to overtake the front and there's nothing you can do about it.

Did you see how far back the guy was on he's bike over the jump and he still landed on the front wheel? HOW???

Can I just rewind quickly?

So Phil Twatwell did a 4.35 on his Hard Tail.

  • He missed ALL the big jumps
  • ALL of the proper race lines
  • And came in almost 1 1/2 slower than the eventual winning time on a much smoother track.

I also took a long hard look at the podium and he was strangely absent. What a toolbag. Really. If you want to moan at least have the results to back it up.

Also. I'd be willing to bet a fair sum of $ that he'll be throwing whips at Zore this weekend when Crankworks is in Morzine instead of riding the gnar in Champery over the hill.
