Good morning hubbers

I see the following is on sale at CWC:

http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/super-help-quick-flat-repair-and-inflator

Never been interested in it before but at 60rondtz i might be.

Anyone use these?

Do they work?

Can you use this as a backup for if your sealant (Stan's etc) fails to seal?

The description says:

Super Help tyre repair is designed to give fast, temporary relief (sounds like Imodium) in emergency situations when changing a wheel with a flat tyre is inconvenient or even dangerous

But then it goes on:

Forms a stable, durable film inside the tyre.

This inner protective film lasts far beyond the life of the tyre itself.

So which one is it - temporary relief or a film that lasts beyond the life of the tyre?

Your thoughts and input will be appreciated.

I've used the Tyreweld in a small can that you get from Sportsmans. Ive used it as a last resort. Worked once and not worked once.

Would you use it again? Did you have sealant in your tyre as well? Road or MTB?

Yes I would, I had sealant in the tyre, but as I say as a last resort, when the sealant doesn't work. Plug the tyre, then blow the tyre up, and hopefully ride off. And it's on an MTB

Pretty sure if (in)correctly applied it would have exactly the same effect...

I see CWC is selling these now at R40.

Has anyone got some feedback on this stuff?

I have met one or 2 guys at races who carry this with them and say they like it.

I don't mind carrying an extra 140g with me on the bike, but what I still can't find much info on is if this stuff counteracts the sealant in a mtb?

ie. does it do to your sealant what a CO2 bomb does to it?

Those inflators do not work so please don't waste your money. A plug takes a bit of learning to get right and do it quickly but its much more reliable and then use a separate CO2 inflator.

I helped a\guy out at Cape Pioneer Trek last year who had used one of those inflators. The inside of his tyre was filled with the liquid crap from one of those inflators that the plug kept slipping out. Eventually after making the hole bigger and using a few plug strips twisted together we got him going again.

He was kind enough to replace my three 25gr bombs we used to get him going. He used all4 of his own 16gr bombs. Couldn't fit a tube because his tyre was full of thorns and it had very little latex sealant left.

Those Gas + sealant inflators don't seem to react well with the latex sealants and just makes a royal mess inside the tyre. Please please please avoid

Wonder if he shook it up properly before using it.

Seen plenty of guys I ride with use them and I’ve used mine a few times and they worked fine.

I have a few of those, bought from CWC. It allowed me to finish a race once. It was a sidewall cut so nothing really would have helped. It inflated the wheel and put a bit of sealant into the tyre. Good enough for me.
