Cyclists and car robbery

Hi all,

Please be aware in the linden, Cresta area there is a white VW Golf Registration number BF 45 RF GP that is forcing cyclists to stop and they steal your phone, GPS and money.

Whilst I was at linden police station I was told I'm not the only person to report this white Golf which is reported to be stealing out of vehicles as well .

Please be aware and careful. Let linden police know if you have seen this vehicle.

What on Earth are they going to do with an Edge 5xx etc.? Blows my mind at the brazen attitude of criminals these days.

Do all GPS units have serial numbers? If so, how about we add these items to the " Stolen Bikes/Equipment". Perhaps we can root out some of the resellers of stolen goods and make it unpopular to advertise here.

 

Would require hubbers to actively take pics of their units....Thoughts?

Except if the rider was using the livetrack feature like you have on the Fenix 3? If I remember correctly there was a case on the hub of a guy that could track his bike/gps unit but police wasn't very helpful, and then the unit died..?

Infuriating, I ride through Linden on my commute home.

 

If the police have the registration no, surely it should be easy to track them down? Unless it's a stolen car or number plate.

This is something I have been saying for a very long time...no one questions an odd Garmin or rear deraileur etc that was lifted off a new bike etc...
