Very true, nothing at this point actually means anything...

[11/29, 18:26] Martin Dreyer:

Jeans lost about 25min trying to make a plan. A rider stopped and 'Macgyved' a temporary fix wrapping a space blanket around the broken skewer/axle and jamming it in.... Happy days for now[emoji16]

Guy Jennings getting ready to start.  I got this bike ready, so hopefully there's no issues with it!

He came 12th last year, lets see what he can do this year!

That bike seems way over weight. Could be a serious hindrance.

It was a brand new RD

Well that's the point. One that had done 1000km was a safer bet. It would have been a setup issue, not mechanical failure.

7.30 hrs in ... and the first night arrives...going to be interesting to see the strategy at the first stop over. Most will go straight through.

But man Vettie is FLYING!

140km odd, thats just shy of 20 km/hr !

Brilliant! Nice and steady.

the winners usually avg 15km/hr, so its going to be interesting to see how all the various strategies play out.

I think with the lack of wind at the start like last year the finish rate is going to be ALOT higher

Possibly the heat will be a factor this year, but that is way more manageable than wind.
