Thought i would just stick my head out here specifically replying to Duane's comment:

 

You're probably referring to a little piece of tube hanging under the chainstay holding a bit of chain tension? (and providing much friction)

Chaintamer is quite different: it has dynamic slide action so the guide section is always in line with the chain. Result: shock absorber for your chain eliminating chain slap and noise, zero friction while pedaling.

We're still fairly new on the market but have been testing for years and have already scooped some rave reviews   Enjoy.

Yes. There's no way a bodged piece of pipe and a few cable ties could compare with what you guys have done.

I have one. Works very well.

Not elegant, but no more noisy chainslap and no chain drops.

The slider cylinder, how has that been, still smooth or any resistance issues you picked up when changing gears?

 

Was thinking that rails just need to be kept clean and maybe add wax to it?

Naah it worked well right up until it got smashed in a crash.

I haven't replaced it yet because that bike is a singlespeed now.
