Markvj Posted October 12, 2017 Posted October 12, 2017 I am the proud owner of BMC SF02 which I bought last year after always being a Specialised fan. I moved primarily because of the service, advice I received and the passion around the brand from Swiss cycles. It was the best decision I have made and haven’t looked back! The fact that there is now not a authorized BMC dealer in Johannesburg and from what I am told Gauteng is ridiculous! How can a distributor not have representation in South Africas biggest city? I am at a loss for words....
Isak Pretorius Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 I can’t agree more, the only reason I ride a BMC (SLR01) is because of Justin and Swiss Cycles! Justin introduced me to the brand (was on Cervelo before), his passion for the brand and the example he set riding the SLR01 is what made me a convert. To be honest I thought Justin was BMC SA, he sure sold the brand like he was!! To hear that BMC are pulling the brand from him is shocking to put it lightly.

I dread the day we need a warranty claim.I met a guy this week whose MTT stuffed out on his TE01. He is going to be pissed off when he hears that Swiss Cycles may not be able to process his warranty.

Sadly Swiss Cycles are closing their doors this weekend... from my perspective, this is largely due to the distributors arrogance and ignorance.

To prevent it and protect yourself from all the nastiness I am willing to accept any unwanted BMC's, I promise to care for them, look after them and make sure that they are never forgotten.

The agent obviously has a higher opinion of the brand then he should, coupled with a lower understanding of what Justin actually achieved. BMC are doomed here without Justin !
shaper Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 This is the 2nd time BMC as a brand are shutting their doors is it not... I remember 5 or so years ago distribution stopped, there were big liquidation sales from the previous franchisee, Velo Life?? Swiss Cycles then opened up... and now it looks like is happening again with possibly a new distributor.
