MTB - 29" Back Wheel not fitting onto Indoor Trainer ...

Depends entirely on the trainer.

I have this problem on my Tacx and after much frustration (and admittedly trying to force a road tyre onto my mtb rim) I actually read the manual.

Lo and behold, there is not only the foot pedal which pushes the flywheel up to the bike wheel, there is in fact also an adjustment hand screw hidden neatly underneath which gives quite a bit of additional adjustment leeway.

If you have a Tacx then this will solve your problem, if not don't know.

You should not have to "force" a road tyre onto a 29er rim as the 29er rim is the same diameter as a road rim.

So we have actually all been riding 29ers for looooong time already?

It's why all you roadies feel so comfy on a Spez Epic... Its basically a road bike with wide bars, decent brakes, slightly fatter tires and some squidge!

Please advise ... How can I make a 29" MTB Back Wheel fit onto an Indoor Trainer, do I need to exchange the Wheel to a 26" Wheel with cassette, ect.?

Regards, Kobie.

I had the same issue. I just bought a 26" rim and tyre (Special trainer tyre) and bob is your uncle, works perfectly...
