more serious question for you chaps ... how tough is the 99er?

Not bad just the last 7km is uphill :-) and the last km is 7-10% gradient

Seeding out, Beta 1.04

I actually went up a group ..  0.51 into the next group

Can't believe I jump up from N to J... Hopefully enough for a 7am start or earlier for CTCT...

Now the tough times of festive season and trying to stay on the bike and not over eating.

Until they get the 99er to be 99km again via Malanshoogte I ain't riding.

I'm stuck in E which is way too fast for me anyway, based off 04:14:52 for K2C. All I want is a reasonable start time for CTCT so I can do the 2nd lap I already paid form.

The final 10 kms is mostly uphill making it a good test of fitness and endurance

Well the 99er is 99km in 2018 again, so they got at least half of your requirements right  ^_^

Ahh bugger, fingers crossed just tissue damage and heals fast

oh no !

Shell! That is terrible. Hope it is not to serious and that you get to recover soon.

Sorry to hear, Shell Belle.

After also losing your front wheel at D Dash.

Thanks everyone.  I had an MRI on Wednesday as the pain was just getting worse and it turns out I have a fractured pelvis that the Xray completely missed.  6 weeks of no weight bearing at least, as luckily the fractured is non-displaced, and the docs don't want to risk me messing it up by starting too early.

To say I am in a bit of dark place right now is an understatement.  Really struggling to get my head around this and not sure how to cope TBH  :(

That last little hill to the finish. That thing is ugly.

The first year I rode the race I was not aware of Odendaal, so I was REALLY broken when they waved me to turn right up that hill
