Awesome ride by Hatherley

Just finish watching the race.

After Gaze's technical nice by Hatherley to give gaze a free pass when he was on the chase.

That Sam gaze is an enormous spanner. I don't care how fast he is, he doesn't understand mtb racing, expecting Cooper to wait for him then being all grumps afterwards. He's not that popular in NZ because his attitude is very un kiwi

Spanner or not.. He's a solid talent. He'll be popular if he takes home gold in 2020

Sam has since apologized so he must get credit for that as well.

Good for Alan to allow Sam to pass quickly ...

It's tough to maintain composer when the adrenaline is pumping and you've just finished a race. "Reporters time" 2 mins after the race provides the best stories!!!

Took the day off, drove from Brisbane and watched the race. Was good but kept hopping Alan would have made a last lap challenge.

Course was good, crowd supportive. Sam is a genuine tool.

A few years ago the pm of New Zealand was asked if he was concerned by the number of NZ folks moving to Australia, he responded saying no as the average IQ of both countries would increase..????

I must admit, I don't get why anyone should be expected to "wait" for someone having a technical when racing. Especially in MTB. Even in road races this makes no sense to me.

By this logic, Hamilton should be expected to wait for Vettel to catch up when he is pitting, so that the race maintains gentlemanly decorum?

To me this sounds somewhat stupid.
