2 cyclists down at the same time this morning, one in Cape Town & the other in JHB. To the guy that passed away in JHB R.I.P.

This is getting out of hand now.

its been out of hand for years i tell you, years!

this is rubbish though- which of us are the next losing victims to reckless or irresponsible driving?

RIP Mr Rider, if he left a family behind... my condolences

The traffic reports up here are reporting on a cyclist down too

Gees cannot be another incident on the same road on the same day, just saw a posting on FB of an "earlier" incident of a motorcyclist on Northumberland Avenue, Randburg that passed away, RIP.

There are videos on YouTube that show people drifting out of lane whilst playing on social media. Nowadays a driver actually talking on the phone is the least of your worries.

True story! I'm on a motorbike 5 days a week & see this in peak hour traffic all the time, if I see you drifting I honk my horn.

Indeed, I see it every day. For example, in slow moving traffic on Forest Drive in Pinelands at 4:30pm I would say MINIMUM 7 out of 10 people are on their phones

This statistic is accurate. Commute on motorcycle as well and it's scary to see the amount of people on their phones, they're also the ones who drift in their lane and hold up traffic when it comes to a standstill. They're completely unaware of their surroundings. A twist of the throttle is sometimes needed to wake them up.
