What I saw and exactly what I was and have been thinking...

Which reminded me of an earlier thought

Death to the saddle bag. It's stupid and old fashioned and and and and and... Let's rather use a strap where all the insides are permanently outside, mount it in more or less the same place, but in an awkward manner that will most likely only result in losing my stuff. But most importantly, saddle bags are stupid and ugly...

BUT.... for some people who ride gravel roads and never ride single track this is pretty cool.

Corrugated roads? Nah... Wide bars, 2.4 tires, 100mm travel all lost on a guy or gal who tears around Bethlehem back roads and runs out of gears all the time. Fear not! The 40mm tron bike is here!

Hoods, drops, big gears and just enough suspension to smooth out bad district roads.

Pffft.... haters

I do agree about those strap ons... they just look like a pain in the arse

Solution for a problem caused by the reinvention of the wheel IMO.

This bike would be perfect for someone living in the Eastern Cape or Freestate where you have unlimited miles of dirt road, normally corrugated to the point where even a Cruiser start's crying!

BUT, looking back at the Monstercross bikes, a nice 29" DS with 100mm travel should do the same. If you would like add roadie cranks and drops and Bob's your uncle...

In the Future road racing bikes will also have a bit of suspension for racing in Europe where some of the stages go through some of the small towns with cobbled roads.

Developments are already in progress beyond just flexible chain stays and split frames as is evident on this bike.

The suspension could be locked out when not needed.

Suspension systems can be developed that will not add too much weight to the bike by using light weight materials.

Can't we just nuke the Freestate then we don't have a place for these bicycles to exist. Win win?

I hear you except road cranks won't fit on a mtb... there are also some pretty big mountains in the Eastern Cape.

Ahhh I didn't know that. Does the BB system differ? As for the mountains, yes there are a few. But compared to the vast flats of nothingness I think the dirt roadies will find a way around it...
