A hill that reduces grown men to whimpering, bluthering balls of snot.

but alas, welcome, and enjoy.

Hahaha, sounds like fun!! Guess my tactic will be to start at the back of Batch A then, and just granny gear it up Ou Wapad and Prince Alfred before really getting into it.

I'm taking with me to fix tubeless. Not sure if it will be necessary for a spare tube also? Is the terrain really that unforgiving?

imo not any more unforgiving than any other mtb race. But I can guarantee you will see many peeps fixing punctures at the side of the road on Sunday, I think people think  "ahh district roads, what is the most lightweight tyre I can go with"

Excellent! Kind of reminds me of the last episode of "It's always sunny in Philadelphia".

I do like the idea of this, take a few days leave, spend 1000s of rands in travel and accommodation, repeat it over a period of 10 years, get your name between <html> tags. Seems legit.

All worth it in the end!

Will be my 3rd this year.

Add some bucks to your costs, travelling from JHB! Will keep on coming back year after year

Ja, if this is your first K2C, prepare for afk@k if you start in A. You're going to wanna be tempted to go with the fast oke's.

Don't.

Seriously.

No matter how fit you are, not knowing what to expect will lead to striking matches waaaay too soon, and you are going to get badly caught out on the Boskop climb and Kom se Pad. And then when you think it's all done and dusted, you are faced with the Gouna climb to Simola.

To give perspective to the uninitiated can you tell us which climb is which on this profile, as afraid the various names mean nothing to me.

I need help.

Is there anyone who can either give me a lift to the start from Knysna or point me to someone who does so commercially.

Either way, I am happy to pay.

There are suggestions for commercial operators on the website

https://www.karootocoast.com/race-info/transport/

when I was booking a month back some guys were full but could well be cancellations etc, there were more options when I ran a google search as well

We are using Night Trans who took our bikes down from JHB and are taking us to the start from Knysna
