Eish, I will take a miss this year. It's on the same day as One Tonner and I always go down for that race... Chance to see the family.

Just saw this:

As part of objective 2, we will be offering a R100 discount for all riders aged 19 years and younger (as of 31 December 2018). This forms part of the Germiston Wheelers Cycle Club initiative to fund the development of cyclists.

Wow, great initiative, specially for families entering.

Anyone interested in riding the route with us, in August (18th) and September (15th), let me know.

It will be a ride at a manageable pace (not race pace) - but perhaps split into groups depending on numbers and the range of ability.

Distance is either 110km or 58km from Carnival City.

What is the wind going to be like for the race

Cant recall an issue with wind last year, this will be the second time in the new date slot so no real history.

Third edition in the new date... Nov-16, Oct-17 and now Oct-18.

There has been wind every year, but last year was quite windy. We had to drop the inflatable arch at the finish because the wind was blowing too hard.

Prevailing winds are NW-N-NE, with the “beast from the east” resulting in strong winds (like last week).
