joBerg2c is a full-service 9 day 900km (600mile) point to point mountain bike stage ride / race through four provinces of South Africa. It starts 50km south of Johannesburg on the Karan Beef farm and finishes 9 days later on the beach in Scottburgh a small town 50km south of Durban.

 

It is not a tour and you will have to earn your medal by riding the full 9 days. If you are fit you will enjoy the ride and if you are fit and fast you can race for some great prize money and prizes.

Would absolutely love to do it solo again but its now double the cost of what I paid in 2013  :(

 

Fully agree. You can go on a 7 day all inclusive holiday, including flights for less. Something doesn't add up.

I rode solo this year, awesome experience but it is getting very pricey unfortunately

 

I see solo is 28 500 and a team entry (for 2, I assume) is 24 800. I can see how solo can be the same price as team - but struggling to see the maths behind more expensive?

I think it is R24k per person in the team. R48k for both?

 

Website says 24k for the team.

 

From the refund policy: 

  • If you are entered as a team and one rider cancels the other may ride as a solo and pay in the difference for solo price

Yeehaa! I've been lucky to be offered a complimentary for J2C after someone withdrew. Super excited for my 1st and hoping to learn a bit more here about what to expect.

Dont give everything on day 1 like i did. It is not timed per se and going flat out will cost you in days to come!
