... who drove aggressively at me and nearly flattened me at 1:30 pm/1:31 pm today at the circle at the intersection of Westcliff Drive and Tyrone Avenue (Westcliff, Johannesburg):

A bit of courtesy and letting me get through the intersection would have cost you nothing - maybe 2 or 3 seconds of your time at most. Instead you decided you'd rather drive at me and place me at risk. Lekka, I hope it gave you a thrill and made you feel heroic.

I have no idea who it was; I regret not noting the registration number. It was just totally unnecessary. She actually forced me off the bike. Thank heavens I was on multi-release clips as otherwise I'd almost certainly have hit the deck.

Stefan I also very much doubt it but maybe someone will put two and two together and whisper in her ear and tell her not be a [pick your own word]. Stranger things have happened.

You chirp her swaer. :-)

Probably just frustrated that she's driving a Figo and not a Wildtrack Ranger.

I'm really glad she wasn't. I'd be like a pancake now! :-)

She has small car syndrome and live in in fear of it spontaniously combusting so she drives aggressively hoping she gets to where she is going before it goes up in flames!

Doubt it, most frustrated drivers tend to drive bigger cars like the Ford Ranger Wildtrack.

Something to do with compensating for other things that are lacking.

You will always get the d#se but that said it goes both ways a lot of cyclist ride on the road like they own it and they are the ones causing the problem. It's always the minority who f it up for the majority.

Just this afternoon there was 1 I was driving in traffic and I nearly hit him as there was no space to my right and with more than a meter of cycling lane wright next to him why not use it why the f ride in the road now those are the ones who p#ss off motorists.

Is it a 5fm dj? I heard once on the radio saying how annoyed they get with cyclists in cpt and how dare we cycle.

The behaviour of SOME cyclists do the rest of us no favours !!

On Saturday morning at about 7:45 I was driving along Jip De Jager, direction Durbanville.  Along the uphill section where it turns from 2 to 1 lane a group of about 6 or 7 cyclists are filling the cycling lane.  Ample space for cars and cyclists.

Now bear in mind there was THICK fog !!

Next moment one idiotic cyclist swerves into the road, and slowly starts passing the group of cyclists - very slowly along the uphill !!!

I tap my hooter to inform this brain dead moron that he has just swerved in front of group of vehicles, already pre-occupied with dealing with the 2-to-1 lane and poor visibility .... standing on the brakes to avoid this blithering idiot was not an option, not with cars right up my rear bumper in the thick fog ....

blaring the hooter did get this idiot out the way, but obviously got the expected "gestures" ....

Now bear in mind I AM a cyclist, I had my bike on the back of my car and DO give way where at all possible and safe to do so !!  This blithering idiot was so busy "owning the road" that he probably does not even begin to realise that he:

- put his own life in real danger

- put the lives of the other cyclists in danger

- put MY life and car danger ....

Thankfully this type of behaviour is NOT the norm.  Thankfully most cyclists actually do ride in a responsible manner !!
