A few days ago NQ can't ride up a hill with the peloton, now he's setting KOMs in the alps

I know he's very good and all that but he's my least favourite rider and earlier today I said he would go backwards after getting in the break. So basically you're welcome NQ because in this tour I am always wrong.

I only catch up on the thread in the morning after I watched the stage the previous evening.

All the comments and guessing of tactics and who looks *** are

What a great take in a brilliant race and more today. Glad to see i was pretty much 100% wrong yesterday with any predictions. So stoked for JA to keep the jumper another day. I like his swashbuckling d'Artagnan style and he has panache in bucket loads. That descent yesterday was something.

I'd love him to get through today in the lead but I think the Ineos sharks are circling and perfectly placed to put him under massive pressure. Holding thumbs tho. Him or Pinot in Paris would be epic.

When last did a rider win the yellow and white jerseys?

Not sure if it counts, as I don't think there was a white jersey back then, but when Jan Ullrich won in 1997 was 23 I think?

Ullrich, Contador and Andy Schleck all won white together with GC .

Moser was the first white jersey winner way back when

I think today is goint to look like a highlights package from start to finish to be honest. Ineos waited very long yesterday to attack, and Pinot and the rest did nothing. If one goes early today it will be attack after attack.

What time does it start again?

Was privileged to roll up the Col du Galibier

Man, it was close to the clouds.

Just cannot imagine racing up there; I don't even remember what I did almost three weeks ago.

At the beginning of the Tour everyone including JA and DQS all knew that JA wasn't a real GC contender/threat. After this showing I'll be quite surprised if JA and DQS don't change his training and give him at least one proper go at a GT GC pursuit, he has earned the right!

Perhaps they already did but kept it under the radar, that would be such a DQ thing to do[emoji6]

Wouldn't they have sent a stronger GC orinatated team then?

To me at least it looks like the team was centered around Viviani with the hopes of a breakaway stage win here or there. While giving Mas some GT experience. But then again I'm as far from knowledgeable on the working of a cycling team as one can get.

For sure.. I think it may have been a little lets see how it goes without pressure..probably had an eye on polka dots again.. He has been climbing really well the last 2 years done well in 1 week races etc.

The cat is out the bag though.. never again will he be given time like this.

been getting sniffles all week, now that you mention it..

Gonna sneak out a tad early and work from home for at least the last 90 minutes of the stage. Best I can do. Have meetings :(
