Eish Roglic, my man, that was one seriously bad day, dropped to 3rd... !

Still plenty of drama left in this tour though and you can't write off anybody, think Froome last year.

2mins is way too much to make up on the final TT, so he would need to find time elsewhere if he wants to stand on the top step.

Perhaps he has a killer end game strategy. But I think he's betting too much on the TT tbh, it might burn him, or his gamble might pay off. He doesn't seem to be the kind of rider who panics.

But Nibali is looking solid, I think his head is in the right space. These guys can climb man, it;'s awe inspiring.

I wonder if Ciccone meant to chuck his glasses in that very Italian flair celebration?

I saw that too. I just think the elation, and probably frozen hands, he just couldn't hold on to them. KILLER ride from him today.

How was that move when he tried to put his rain jacket on? Struggled, then just moered it aside, BAD ASS.

BAD ASS indeed...but why was there two bidons in the pockets...is that normal...????

I feel for PRimoz, his team really are shyt. Even if De Plus was still there Primoz would be down to one team mate the minute another them went to the front and put the pressure on. Really poor decision by his team, I mean this was their best shot at a GT win.

I read some PROs were throwing warm tea over themselves to get warm after the finish

Brrrr

The exposure and suppressed immune systems out there of these athletes

Team doctors will be busy

I am still a little at a loss as to the team they sent for this one. Apart from De Plus there wasn't a big gun in there. It almost seems like they split the team across the Giro and the Tour. Surely it would have been better to go all in at the Giro, have strong team mates with him in the final stages and wrap up 1 GT for the year. I can't see StevenK knocking off Ineos or the main contenders in July to be honest.

Roglic didn't look like he had fast enough legs yesterday. Never mind tactics or the TT, it looked he couldn't spin.

Once they got off the steep stuff he looked strong again. Maybe he is feeling the crash a bit more than he lets on or perhaps he still has a couple of years before he properly transitions into a genuine 3 week Grand Tour GC contender, or just a bad day.

The Mortirollo is brutal and he felt it yesterday.

lots of assumptions.

Carapaz going to go all the way? That definitely wasn't the movistar plan from the get go. he's only got the lead because they let him go up the road earlier in the tour. It would be awesome for him to hold out and win, but it's a tough week and unchartered territory for him.

If Carapaz cracks, then it's game on. Primoz is only 20 seconds behind nibbles. last year at TdF he klapped a mountain stage and then bombed out (relatively) on the ITT the next day. I think he's learnt from that one. Got a feeling nibbles still has more cards to play, he has somehow shown the experience that comes with being a longtime GC contender and winner that none of the other guys have.

Finally, just a small thing to note but new RCS owner Urbano Cairo was at the race, as he has been for quite a few days now. He’s a football fanatic, a business tycoon and maybe heading for politics one day but for now he seems fascinated by the Giro, an asset he’s recently acquired.

didn't know that

Would have loved to be the spectator that got that jacket in the face... but probably wouldn't fit anyway...
