Ideally all bikes will be older steel frames and forks, with metal wheels.

These are some of the bikes from the last race

The hillclimb is fun, the competition is serious with some really good riders. But it tries to steer away from the elite side of cycling. If you have an aluminium bike with carbon wheels, you are obviously more than welcome to pull in and race... but if you have an old steel frame lying around, that should be your first choice!   Hope to see you there!

The hillclimb is fun, the competition is serious with some really good riders. But it tries to steer away from the elite side of cycling. If you have a new light weight aluminium bike with carbon fork, you are welcome to pull in and race (might recieve a few squiff looks from dudes on their heavy steel <_<

)... but if you have an old steel frame lying around, that should be your first choice! I know it sounds a bit exclusive, we just want to keep it fun and not too serious   Hope to see you there!

Just checking if I have missed something, entry free, just pitch up with a lekker attitude and ride?

Exactly! No entry fee! Just pitch up, hang out, race up to the Cable Station! Good times. See you there Hairy!

Damned ... I have an inappropriately geared SS Alum framed bike ... that certainly weighs more than a steel bike!?!?!?!

if it says metal, ride metal!

Aluminium or aluminum is a chemical element with symbol Al and atomic number 13. It is a silvery-white, soft, nonmagnetic and ductile metal in the boron group.Wikipedia
